Decomposition Blocks

These colorful tiles are excellent
in helping
young mathematicians
a variety of essential concepts
vital to all years of mathematics!

Overview

This kit includes 10 differently colored “sticks”, each a different length with each length representing a different value ranging from 1 to 10.

The smallest block is the white cube, representing the value 1. The white cube fits perfectly inside each other stick: it fits twice into the red stick representing 2, it fits three times into the light green stick representing 3, etc.

These number sticks are a great tool for discussing topics such as:

  • Counting
  • Grouping
  • Addition & Subtraction
  • Multiplication & Division
  • Number decomposition
  • Substitution
  • Place Holders
  • Bar models
  • and Patterns

Exploring these topics using these blocks can also help your child develop problem solving and spatial reasoning skills!
